Viva Fall River
Mural for Fabric Arts Festival
Fall River – USA, 2021
Fabric Arts Festival commissioned us to imagine a new public art project for the city, inspired by the local “anthem” (and of the Portuguese diaspora), “Viva Fall River,” a song by Azorean songwriter Jorge Ferreira. This piece aims to represent this “anthem” alongside with graphic references composed of various layers that emphasize the multiculturality of this community.
The river, the portuguese tiles and the Fall River´s printed fabric patterns are represented, being this last one a portrayal of the fabric industry which played a huge roll in the development of this city and community.
